What My Wellness Commitment is teaching me this summer?

It’s the second half of 2025—and I want you to take a moment to ask yourself:
How have you been showing up for your body?

This year, I made a personal commitment to move intentionally. To challenge myself. To go deeper—not just physically, but mentally. I decided I was no longer going to play it safe when it came to my wellness.

And let me tell you… that decision stretched me in ways I didn’t expect.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Pilates Took Me Out of My Comfort Zone

I started taking Pilates classes this year, and whew—it opened up a whole new level of movement for me. I had seen people talk about it on social media, but it wasn’t until I actually did it that I realized just how powerful it is.

The control. The breath. The strength it builds in the smallest muscles that make the biggest difference. It was uncomfortable at first—mentally and physically—but that’s where the growth lives. My mind and body weren’t used to it… and maybe you’re not used to staying consistent with yourself either.

That’s why I always recommend memberships and packages for massage and stretch therapy.
Not just for savings—but for accountability.
Because when you commit to your wellness regularly, the results compound.

🏋🏾‍♀️ Weights + Cardio = Longevity Goals

While I’ve stayed consistent with weight training (hello heart health, toned muscles, and joint protection), I knew I had to push myself even more.

So I did something new: I ran my first 5K in June.

Yes, I ran it. And it was amazing and impactful—right up until the moment my knees and feet started yelling at me 😂 But I didn’t stop. I pushed through and came out stronger.

Here’s what I learned from that experience that you can apply, too:

8 Quick Wellness Lessons from My First 5K

  1. Always warm up—before any physical activity.

  2. Invest in good insoles—your feet will thank you.

  3. Protect your eyes—shades are more than a style choice.

  4. Stay hydrated—before, during, and after.

  5. Train ahead of time—respect your body’s process.

  6. Stretch after the event—this is non-negotiable.

  7. Refuel with a nutritious meal—fuel equals recovery.

  8. Rest & recover properly—that includes booking a massage or stretch session.

💆🏽‍♀️ You Deserve to Feel Your Best

I say this all the time, but mindset is everything. I move my body so that I can be 70 years old, opening a jar of green beans with ease. I train so I can run down the street without gasping for air. I stretch so that I stay mobile and pain-free.

If you’ve been inconsistent, start again.
If you’ve been waiting until something hurts—don’t.
You don’t need to be in pain to prioritize your body.
